Gladys Urbina

President

Gladys Urbina is a seasoned executive in the international banking industry and currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer at Caye International Bank. In December 2024, she was elected President of the Belize International Financial Services Association (BIFSA), after previously serving as a Director since 2023.

Ms. Urbina’s expertise spans risk management, executive management, finance, corporate governance, strategic planning, and leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Galen University and is currently pursuing an MBA at Galen University to further enhance her knowledge and leadership skills.

In addition to her executive role, Ms. Urbina is actively involved in community and educational development. She serves on various boards, including Belize Bird Rescue, Belize’s only multi-species avian rescue and rehabilitation center. She is also the Vice Chairlady of the San Pedro High School, San Pedro Junior College, and the San Pedro Adult Continuing Education School, contributing to the advancement of education in her community.

Ms. Urbina holds an Anti-Money Laundering Certified Associate (AMLCA) certification and a Correspondent Banking certification from Florida International University in collaboration with the Financial and International Business Association (FIBA). She is also an Executive Committee Member of the Belize Bankers Association, reflecting her commitment to strengthening the financial services sector in Belize.
